We believe that although over 10 million people in the UK have arthritis, everyone is unique in the way they manage their symptoms. That is why we tailor our self-management approach to your needs and make it individual to you.
A tailored eating regime
We offer our Members the opportunity to follow a healthy, balanced eating regime that we monitor on a regular basis using a food diary. Our Dietitian looks at each food diary, and taking your medical history into account, will give individual feedback on improving your diet.
Personalised support
The team at head office are always here to offer help and support, and as a Member you have access to our healthcare professionals for information tailored to your needs.
The Personalised Member Pathway
The Personalised Member Pathway is a new service for Arthritis Action Members developed to support, guide and motivate them to address both the physical and mental impact of arthritis.
The Pathway gives Members the opportunity to discuss their unique requirements and identify which of our services will help them attain their goals to live better with arthritis.
How it will help
Our Members discuss their current needs with our team, who help them set goals, access the right services, and support them along the way. Members who are actively involved in their own care, treatment and self-management support, can improve their outcomes and experience of living with arthritis.
Individual treatments
For those with arthritis keeping mobile is important. Again we feel that everyone is individual and so, as another optional benefit of being a Member, we offer clinical appointments with one of our Associated Practitioners, who are all qualified manual therapists. The therapies provided by the Charity ensure your individual needs are identified. These consultations are heavily subsidised or free.
You can visit a practitioner local to you. Use the Find a practitioner interactive map to locate a practitioner or contact us at head office for other options.
Security of information
As well as completing a data protection form we will ask you to fill in a short health information questionnaire, which may be used if we give you individual feedback or if you visit an Associated Practitioner. Be assured we never pass on your personal information to third parties without your express permission.
