We welcome research published by the Observer (Sunday 12th May) highlighting the issues faced by those with long-term healthcare conditions in navigating applications and receiving PIP (Personal Independence Payments). Its analysis showed that 40% of people with either osteoarthritis or inflammatory arthritis had their applications turned down by tribunal.
The figures show the enduring difficulties faced by people with fluctuating conditions and echo the experiences of our Members who say it is a difficult and challenging process to navigate.
