15 April 2024
The NHS COVID-19 Spring Booster Programme is now under way.
Bookings open to the public on Monday 15th April continuing through to 30th June when the programme closes. People at high risk will be called first, however if you know you are in a vulnerable group you do not have to wait to be invited and can use the National Booking system once it is open.
We encourage all Members eligible to participate and receive a Spring booster, as vaccination provides good protection against severe disease, hospitalisation and can protect those vulnerable from severe illness and complications. You can take part even if you have not done previously.
Eligibility includes:
- Adults aged 75 years and over (this includes those who turn 75 years old by 30 June
- 2024).
- Residents in care homes for older adults (people who are admitted to an older adult
- care home or become immunosuppressed by 30 June are also eligible)
- Individuals aged 6 months and over who are immunosuppressed as defined by the Green Book, this includes:
- Individuals with primary or acquired immunodeficiency states at the time of vaccination due to certain conditions
- Individuals with chronic immune-mediated inflammatory disease who were receiving or had received immunosuppressive therapy prior to vaccination
