The Scottish cyclist Josh Quigley, who set the fastest time for cycling the Scottish ‘North Coast 500’ route in September 2020, has unfortunately had to pull out of his Guinness World Record attempt for the greatest distance cycled in a week due to injury. Josh is continuing his fundraising campaign, despite the unfortunate injury, rallying up over £9,000!
Josh’s challenge began on 26th April, riding between Aberdeen and Cairngorms in Scotland. Josh suffered a knee injury on day four, but persevered until he was forced stop on the fifth day, a few hours into the day’s cycle. Josh hopes his attempt will provide hope and inspiration to the 10 million people in the UK that are impacted by the condition.
Josh was diagnosed with arthritis earlier this year at 28 years old. This attempt to break the Guinness World Record to raise money for Arthritis Action, to help others living with arthritis and prove that they can still live extraordinary lives.
You can still donate to Josh’s attempt by visiting his Just Giving page.
